Approve the appointment of Mr. Jim Bowlin as Parks and Recreation Director.
Summary
Section 4.06 of the City Charter specifies that the City Manager shall appoint the head of each administrative department, subject to the approval of the City Council. The City Manager has recommended the appointment of Mr. Bowlin as Parks and Recreation Director Mr. Bowlin is the current Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Edmond, Oklahoma where he has been employed since 2004. Previous to that, Mr. Bowlin served as the Parks and Recreation Director of Rowlet, Texas for eight years and the City of Dodge City, Kansas for five years. It is anticipated that Mr. Bowlin will begin work at the City in mid January. A summary of Mr. Bowlin's qualifications is attached.
