Summary
In March of 2021 City staff solicited requests for qualifications from engineering firms for services associated with six of the 2020 Transportation Bond Program Projects. Burns and McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc. was one of the firms selected and assigned the Intersections Improvements project. The project includes the analysis, design, and construction of improvements for the intersections of E. Pflugerville Parkway at FM 685 and Copper Mine Drive Overpass at FM 685.
The initial Professional Services Agreement approved by City Council on July 27, 2021 included preliminary engineering for the intersections consisting of data collection, field surveying, subsurface utility engineering, preliminary design, traffic analysis, drainage study and analysis, drainage design, and preliminary environmental services.
The purpose of this presentation is to inform City Council of the analysis results, present the recommended alternatives with an initial public feedback summary, and provide a Texas Department of Transportation coordination status.
Next steps would be to finalize the study and alternatives then prepare a supplemental agreement for preparation of detailed plans and the necessary environmental documents based on the selected alternatives.

Pflugerville City Council called a November 3, 2020 bond election for three propositions totaling $191.3 million at the August 11, 2020 meeting.
Pflugerville City Council approved a Professional Services Agreement with Burns and McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc. at the July 27, 2021 meeting.
