Title
Approving an ordinance on second reading with the caption reading: An ordinance of the City of Pflugerville, Texas Amending the City of Pflugerville, Texas Code of Ordinances, Chapter 72 regarding school zone/speed limits on city streets; establishing school zones on Wolf Pack Drive, Pleasanton Pkwy, and Benica St; providing for a penalty clause; repealing all Ordinances to the extent they are in conflict; providing for severability; and providing an effective date.

Summary
With the nearing completion of the site development improvements related to Jessica Carpenter Elementary (ES #22), Bohls Middle School (MS #7), and the current operations at Weiss High School, the implementation and adjustment of school zones within the area is a necessary safety measure to protect the health and safety of school aged children. The proposed request establishes new school zones on Pleasanton Pkwy and Benica St. and will adjust the current school zone along Wolf Pack Drive. The adjustment to Wolf Pack Drive will provide additional time in the day for the school zone to account for the newly constructed elementary and middle schools and will extend the distance of the school zone. The proposed school zone will reduce the speed to 20 MPH on all streets during the hours of 6:55 AM to 9:15 AM and 2:30 PM to 4:45 PM, Monday through Friday and any other time the solar powered flashing beacon is activated.
