Title
Discuss and consider a proposed resolution of the City of Pflugerville, Texas in support of the Project Connect High Capacity Transit System Plan efforts.

Summary
Capital Metro is requesting resolutions from various jurisdictions and entities demonstrating regional support for the Project Connect concept plan as shown on the attached map. This map and additional information is available via http://www.projectconnect.com/connect/resources. The plan, adopted by the Transit Working Group (TWG) of the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO), reflects a proposed high capacity transit route extending up the Mokan Corridor. The Mokan Corridor is the abandoned Missouri Kansas Texas rail corridor that generally runs north / south through Pflugerville as shown on the attached map. The right-of-way is owned by the State of Texas and is generally 100 feet wide.

Project Connect North Corridor is an effort to further the regional approach to high capacity transit. The north corridor was identified by the TWG as having the highest priority among all of the corridors. A policy advisory group and technical advisory committee are currently working with Capital Metro and a consultant team to develop alternatives to implement the Project Connect vision. Each of the alternates currently being evaluated avoids most of the Mokan Corridor through Pflugerville. Additional information and resources, including maps, is available via the project website: http://www.projectconnect.com/vision/north-corridor.php.

The Project Connect vision map is expected to be amended to better conform to the alternatives that result from the Project Connect North Corridor efforts.
