Presentation of Texas Municipal League awards to Councilmember Victor Gonzales and the City of Pflugerville.
 
Summary
Every year, the Texas Municipal League (TML) recognizes municipal elected officials participating in the Texas Municipal League Institute (TMLI) program who earned the appropriate number of continuing education hours in the previous calendar year.  They present the following certificates:  
 
·     Award of Recognition - 42 hours of training
·     Award of Achievement - 54 hours of training
·     Certificate of Outstanding Accomplishment  - 72 hours of training
·     Certified Municipal Official  - 72 hours of training with 2 hours of open government training
Along with the individual recognition program, there is an award for city participation.  A city that has had an elected official receive a TMLI certificate for five consecutive years will receive a special Award of Leadership.
 
The TMLI held its Awards Presentation during the TML Elected Officials' Conference in San Antonio on Sunday, February 9, 2014. Councilmember Victor Gonzales was recognized from the City of Pflugerville for earning his fifth consecutive TMLI certificate and the City of Pflugerville was recognized with an Award of Leadership.
 
Mr. Scott Houston, Deputy Executive Director and General Counsel for the Texas Municipal League, is schedule to present these awards during the February 25, 2014 regular City Council meeting.
