Discuss and consider action to approve a contract with Simplecity Design in the amount of $45,000 for an audit of the development review and permitting process.

 

Summary

The proposed partnership will allow Simplecity Design to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the development review and permitting processes, ranging from subdivision platting to site plans and other development permit types. The work with explore how to optimize the development process, identify where staff roles overlap or leave gaps, and coordinate across the development review departments.

 

Simplecity has provided this service Blanco, TX, Hutto, TX, and San Marcos, TX. In addition, each city for which Simplecity has created new codes also receives a new development process mapped to state law and built into a flowchart. That list includes Bastrop, TX, Bandera, TX, Taylor, TX, and Castroville, TX.
