Approving a change order in the amount of $126,318 and 57 additional days for the construction contract for the Neighborhood Street Reconstruction Package Number 2 with Patin Construction, LLC., and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Summary
The City awarded a construction contract for the Neighborhood Street Reconstruction Package Number 2 to Patin Construction, LLC in November 2023. This project is for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of seven neighborhood streets (Picadilly Drive, Pfluger Loop, Great Basin Ave, Bushmills, Edgemere, Windermere Drive, Yellow Sage).
This change order is for the following items:
1) additional concrete to replace curb & gutter, valley gutters, and sidewalk panels. From the time of the field survey (for design) to construction it was noticed that some curb & gutter had deteriorated and/or was causing drainage problems. Valley gutters and sidewalk panels were replaced for constructability and aesthetic reasons identified by the contractor in the field.
2) asphalt, used to create a smooth transition to the TxDOT ROW at Windemere @ Pecan and Yellow Sage @ Pecan, and
3) the utility work of relocating the Manville water line to a lower elevation that was expected to occur as part of this project, pending finalization of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) (note: that the Manville MOU is on this City Council agenda as well)
These changes will improve the visual appeal to our residents, enhance roadway integrity, and protect the improved infrastructure.
The budget this project currently has will support this change order.
This item supports the Infrastructure pillar of the Strategic Plan by maintaining a robust and resilient roadway infrastructure that exceeds expectations.
