Approving a variance to Section DG8.1C of the Engineering Design Guidelines to allow the installation of a pole mounted transformer in conjunction with the construction of a lift station by the Pflugerville Community Development Corportation (PCDC).
Summary
The City's Engineering Design Guidelines requires that all powerlines and transformers be placed underground. PCDC is constructing a lift station behind the toll booth on SH 130 which is south of Pecan Street. There are existing overhead power lines and existing poles behind this toll booth. The lift station will receive power from these overhead lines/poles. PCDC is proposing to mount a transformer on one of these existing poles and attach the electrical conduit to the pole. No new overhead power lines or service drop lines will be installed. The conduit mounted to the pole will go directly into the ground to serve the lift station.

Variances to this provision are subject to City Council action, based on the recommendation of the City Engineer.
