Approving a Professional Services Agreement with Lockwood, Andrews and Newnam (LAN) in the amount of $274,628 for the preparation of a Wastewater Master Plan update and authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement.
Summary
The City's Wastewater System Master Plan and Wastewater Model need to be updated to better reflect the City's wastewater strategy as discussed with the City Council. The consultant will take the current plan and modify the plan to include new assumptions and strategies for managing the City's Wastewater Utility.
The current wastewater master plan was adopted by ordinance on May 2008. A copy of the Ordinance is attached.
Status
LAN is currently under contract to develop a Water Master Plan, and Water and Wastewater Impact Fees. This effort, together with the City's other master planning, is essential to fulfill the requirements to update the land use assumptions and capital improvements plan.
Prior City Council Action
City Council approved the selection of LAN on June 12, 2012.
Deadline for City Council Action
Staff requests action on July 24, 2012.
Projected Future City Council Action
Upon completion of the master plan, a presentation will be scheduled including adoption of the plan.
Fiscal Impact
The funding for this study will come from the FY 2012 and FY2013 Utility Operating Budget.
The total for this project is $274,628.
