Title
Approving an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between the City of Cedar Park, the City of Georgetown, the City of Leander and the City of Pflugerville for the participation in the Central Texas Regional S.W.A.T (CTRS) and authorizing the City Manager to execute same.
Summary
In 2015 the Police Chiefs of Georgetown, Cedar Park, and Leander combined tactical resources under one unified program that is designed specifically to comply with the National Tactical Officer’s Association (NTOA) best practice standards. Furthermore, it was determined that a regional team is the most efficient and effective manner in which to leverage regional resources, which will significantly reduce unnecessary risk and exposure to liability to any one agency. This partnership ensures that no singular agency takes the burden of tactical response.
The City of Pflugerville is being invited to become a partner agency in the CTRS, allowing for a more efficient tactical response, guided by the NTOA’s operational and training best practices.
