Approving the PCDC Executive Director to enter into an agreement with DCS Engineering not to exceed $129,712 for the purpose of construction administration, construction management, and material testing of Helios Way Right-in & Right-out Driveway Project.
Summary
This construction administration/management, and material testing agreement is the next step in the Helios Way Right-in/Right-out project. When the final bid is selected for construction, it will be brought to the PCDC Board for approval and then forwarded to City Council for final approval. We will gain some economies of scale by bidding both Helios Way and the Impact Way Extension projects together as both projects are on similar completion trajectories. Helios Way and Impact Way are road extension projects located in the 130 Business Park and will allow for new access points in and out of the business park and will aid in recruitment of businesses for the remaining greenfield land in the One Thirty Business Park. Currently the PCDC owns a 17.5 acres tract, a 8.8 acres tract and a 1 acre tract in the business park along the Impact Way planned road extension.
Prior City Council Action
The Board and Council previously approved the engineering contract for this project in March of 2024 and further approved the $2,707,400 Helios Way Right-in/Right-out Project in August of 2024 as well as approved the FY25 PCDC Budget inclusive of this item in September of 2024.
