Mayor Pro Tem Gonzales has participated in the past in the AHMO and is the 2010 recipient of their prestigious Alex Briseno Excellence and Leadership Award. AHMO is an affiliate organization of the Texas Municipal League. The purpose of AHMO is to establish cooperative and constructive relationships among its members for the promotion of the general welfare of the Hispanic community.
