This agenda item requests approval of a professional services supplemental agreement (PSSA) #1 in the amount $82,894 Colliers Engineering and Design to complete the design for the Parkway Drive roadway improvements project (CIP# TR2501).Â
The original scope of work for Parkway Drive contemplated an overlay design; however, subsequent evaluations determined that the existing curbs, gutters, and multiple driveways had deteriorated beyond a condition suitable for repair. Accordingly, a full-depth reconstruction is now required to ensure the long-term structural integrity of the roadway and compliance with applicable City standards. This revision to the scope necessitates an adjustment to the design fee to reflect the additional engineering services required. The construction documents will therefore be updated to incorporate the removal and replacement of curb and gutter where warranted, as well as the design of street lighting consistent with current City standards.
This PSSA also expands the consultant’s scope of work by adding construction phase services which will support the City in ensuring timely and quality project delivery. In addition, the consultant will be required to assist City staff with public information dissemination, helping to keep residents and stakeholders informed throughout the bid and construction processes. This item supports the sustainable infrastructure pillar of the City's Strategic Plan.
