Approving a license agreement with Pflugerville Walgreens to feature Pflugerville PF logo and city images.
Summary
The city was approached by the Pflugerville Walgreens at Pflugerville Parkway and FM 685 to partner and feature images of Pflugerville in the store. As part of a pilot program, Walgreens Pflugerville will feature images of Pflugerville on the wall to include a mural, photographs of historic and entertaining Pflugerville locations (Lake Pflugerville, Heritage House etc.) and the Come Home to Shop! (R) brand. The Walgreens has asked for permission to feature the PF sticker logo in their facility and even on the cement as you enter the store. The store manager and staff also expressed interest in putting "Between a Rock and a Weird Place" on the walls and "Where Quality meets Life" in addition to featuring a real Pflugerville Population sign as you enter the store.
This license agreement was prepared by an attorney retained by the City.
At the September 13 Council Meeting, it was requested that the city continue to pursue the partnership with Walgreens. Since that meeting, Walgreens expressed interest in handing out Pf stickers at the store during the grand opening. The T-shirt buyer for the store is in touch with the city about the possibilities of partnering to sell the city's Rock and Weird place T-shirts.
Fiscal Impact
There is no fiscal impact. This agreement does not include any monetary payments between the City and Walgreens.
