Title
Procurement of Police Department replacement fleet vehicles in the amount of $291,761.
Summary
Three police fleet vehicles are recommended for replacement. Two vehicles were declared total losses by the insurance provider as a result of collisions. The third vehicle has been formally retired by the Fleet Department due to its age, high mileage, and escalating maintenance costs. Consistent with vehicle policy.
The vehicles will be purchased through Silsbee Ford using their TIPS cooperative purchasing contract, allowing for direct procurement through an approved cooperative purchasing dealership.
Total loss vehicles are in possession of the insurance company for disposition. As surplus, the retired vehicle has been sent to a local auction for proper disposal.
Amendment was approved by council April 14, 2026. Funds have been budgeted in the Vehicle Equipment Replacement Fund, in correspondence with the VERF policy.
This item is supported by the Safety pillar of the Strategic Plan.
