Authorizing the City Manager to execute a purchase agreement and associate conveyance documents between Robin Weiss Faulk, Jackie Weiss Porter, and Randy Charles Weiss (Parcels 4A. 4B, 4C) and the City of Pflugerville as necessary to acquire real property interests for the Weiss Lane and Pecan Street Water Line Projects.
Summary
The Weiss Lane and Pecan Street Water Line projects requires acquisition of a water pipeline easement and temporary access and construction easement for three (3) parcels necessary to construct the project. The City’s property acquisition consultant, LJA Engineering, and city staff have negotiated with the property owner for the necessary easements. The total cost of the waterline easement and temporary access and construction easement for parcel 4A, 4B and 4C is $323,586.00 which was agreed upon, subject to City Council approval, based on appraisals obtained by the City.
In order to construct the water line, easements are necessary from twelve (12) of the parcels located within the project limits. At this time, all parcels are in negotiations. City staff continues bi-weekly coordination meetings with the right-of-way (ROW) Agent.
Approval of this item will authorize the City Manager to execute a purchase agreement, an easement, and associated conveyance documents necessary for formal conveyance of the easements.
Prior City Council Action
City Council approved a professional engineering services agreement with CP&Y in the amount of $1,154,308.00 for professional engineering services associated with the Weiss Lane/Pecan Street Water Line project at the March 10, 2020 meeting.
City council approved Work Authorization No. 2020-01A in the amount of $68,000.00 for right-of-way services associated with the Weiss Lane/Pecan Street Water Line project at the February 9, 2021 meeting.
