Discuss and consider action to appoint Mr. Brian Burkinshaw, Mr. David Rogers and Mr. Eduardo Zamora as alternate members to the Board of Adjustment for two-year terms ending December 31, 2014.
 
Summary
This agenda item has been moved to the top of the agenda to allow for these appointments to the Board of Adjustment to be made prior to the incoming and outgoing board member recognition presentations.
 
The Board of Adjustment consists of five regular members and four alternate members.  Currently, openings remain on the Board of Adjustment for the four alternate members.  Mr. Burkinshaw and Mr. Rogers served as regular members with terms ending December 31, 2012.  Both have agreed to continue to serve on the Board of Adjustment as alternate members.  An application has also been received from Mr. Eduardo Zamora for appointment to the Board of Adjustment.  Mr. Zamora is interested in serving as an alternate member now and as a regular member when an opening exists in the future.  Please find Mr. Zamora's application attached.
 
The City Council took action on November 27, 2012 to appoint Mr. Aaron Dvorak and Mr. David Prout as regular members of the Board of Adjustment.  Current regular members of the Board of Adjustment are Ms. Karen Doughty, Mr. Dvorak, Mr. Thomas Dunn, Mr. Prout and Mr. Russell Shirley.

Staff Recommendation
Appoint Mr. Brian Burkinshaw, Mr. David Rogers and Mr. Eduardo Zamora as alternate members to the Board of Adjustment for two-year terms ending December 31, 2014.  One opening for an alterate member will continue to exist on the Board of Adjustment.
