Summary
The PCDC board approved a request from the City of Pflugerville Parks and Recreation Department to fund a Bankshot basketball court, Recreation Center exercise equipment and improvments to the Pfluger Heights Pocket Park at the January 13, 2011 board meeting.
The Bank Shot Project is a joint venture between The City of Pflugerville and the PISD. The facility will be located on City park land adjacent to Brookhollow Elementary School. It will be a public facility, but the expectation is for Brookhollow students to utilize it during the school day, due to its nature and location. Additional funding was received from community charities and the city portion of the funding will come from the Deutschen Project fund.
Total Project Cost- $25,000, Funding Request - $5,000.
The Recreation Center exercise equipment request is to purchase new Precor Elliptical Trainers. The elliptical trainers currently in the workout room at the Pflugerville Recreation Center are over 8 years old and in need of replacement. The current trainers need costly repairs that outweigh the remaining value of the machines. The workout room is utilized by members of all ages: teens, young professionals to senior citizens.
Cost- $8,688.54
The Pflugerville Heights Pocket Park request is to develop the first phase of this park in Pflugerville Heights, which will include the installation of a web climber which is a popular item at Lake Pflugerville. The city will install the sub-base weed barrier, edging, and climber.
Total Project - Cost- $25,000, Funding Request- $10,000

There is no deadline date associated with the request but applicant would like a decision as soon as possible.
