Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Binkley & Barfield Inc. for Design & Construction Phase Services for the Rowe Loop wastewater CIP project in an amount not to exceed $149,483.
Summary
The City of Pflugerville Engineering and Public Works Departments recommend Binkley & Barfield, Inc. to provide Design, Bid & Construction Phase Services for the Rowe Loop wastewater project. This project will construct a gravity wastewater main and remove the Steeds Crossing lift station. The Steeds Crossing Lift station has the highest cost of lift station maintenance in the City's wastewater system. The removal of the lift station will improve the reliability of that portion of our wastewater system.
Design, Bid & Construction Phase Services for the Rowe Loop wastewater project are to be performed for an amount not to exceed $149,483. Included in the amount are Design, Construction and Materials Testing (refer to the attached Professional Services Agreement and Attachment 1: Scope of Services).
Prior City Council Action
Binkley & Barfield, Inc. was selected as the Engineering Consultant for this project during the City Council meeting on February 12, 2013.
Deadline for City Council Action
Action is requested on June 11th, 2013.
Fiscal Impact
The project is included in the approved Utility CIP for fiscal year 2013.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approval for City Manager to execute an agreement for Professional Services with Binkley & Barfield, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $149,483.
