Summary
This item has been scheduled on the worksession agenda to allow for discussion and present annual recommendations regarding the annexation plan and five-year capital improvement plan (CIP). The Planning and Zoning Commission voted at their meeting on April 3, 2017, to recommend the staff recommendation regarding the CIP. On May 1, 2017, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted to recommend the annual annexation plan.
As required by the City Charter, the Planning and Zoning Commission annually reviews and submits a five-year capital improvement plan (utilities, transportation and parks) as well as an annual annexation plan to the City Council and City Manager at least 120 days before the beginning of the budget year that starts in October. The CIP plan must include a prioritized list of projects that are programmed with a recommended year of construction while the annexation plan details any potential three (3) year annexation plans which may be considered. Included within the item are staff reports that detail the CIP, annexation plan and related staff recommendations.
