Title
Discuss and consider approval of additional funding for a total proposed allocation of $965,000 for Lake Pflugerville Pump Station Emergency Repairs.
Status
At the May 13, 2014, City Council Meeting the Council authorized up to $750,000 for procurement of materials and services associated  with emergency repairs necessary to return the pump station to full working condition.  The additional costs are due in part to the impacts to the site of several significant rainfall events contributing to higher than anticipated construction bids.  These same events required the City to expend additional effort and costs to stabilize and dewater the site. The rain impacts also affected the amount of work that Freese and Nichols was required to perform to prepare the design plans. We are also anticipating the need for an increased presence of Freese and Nichols staff at the project site during construction.
This request is for an additional $215,000 for a total of $965,000.
Deadline for City Council Action
Approval is necessary for staff to move forward with the repairs.

Fiscal Impact
The costs of this emergency situation will be funded through utility fund balance and included in the proposed budget amendments for the third quarter of fiscal year 2014.

Staff Recommendation
Staff requests authorization for additional funding for expenditures used to procure services and equipment for the emergency repairs necessary to return the pump station to full working condition.
