Approving an ordinance on second reading with the caption reading: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS, AMENDING THE TERMS OF THE DIRECTORS AND CHAIRMAN OF THE REINVESTMENT ZONE NO. ONE, CITY OF PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Summary
This ordinance is proposed for City Council approval to allow for the terms of the directors of the Reinvestment Zone No. One (Falcon Pointe TIRZ) to be consistent with the terms of the other board and commission members of the City, beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31. At this time per ordinance, the terms of the directors begin on December 14. The ordinance would also specify the term of the chair of the board to be a one-year term beginning on January 1 which is consistent with the Tax Code. Currently the term of the chair of the board begins on December 14. The ordinance also extends the terms of the current members to December 31 of the year their term expires.
The ordinance has been reviewed and approved by Mr. Charles E. Zech, Denton, Navarro, Rocha & Bernal, P.C., TIRZ attorney.
Prior City Council Action
The City Council designated Reinvestment Zone No. One by ordinance on December 14, 2010. The City Council appointed the initial board of directors by resolution on July 26, 2011. The City Council reappointed the directors for Position 2 and 4 on November 22, 2011, and reappointed the chairman by resolution on December 13, 2011.
This ordinance was approved on first reading on November 13, 2012.
