Approving the appointment of Felipe Romero as Director of Communications.
Summary
The City Charter, Section 4.06, requires that the City Manager shall appoint the head of each administrative department, subject to the approval of the city council. Flip comes to Pflugerville with more than 15 years of direct experience in media, public relations and community engagement to lead Pflugerville's communications team. His vast experience includes Austin Independent School District, City of Brownsville and Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. While in Brownsville, Flip created and led the communications and marketing department including four divisions: communications, public engagement, multimedia relations and tourism. Next he served the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs as Senior Program Administrator overseeing and developing marketing and communications plans to engage Texas homeowners. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies from Texas State University and is a graduate of the Effective Motivational Leadership Program from Leadership Management International. We are excited to add him to our city team.
