Discussion regarding propositions to be brought forward to the voters at the November 3, 2020 bond election.

 

Summary

This item has been included on the worksession agenda to allow for discussion. An item has been included on the regular meeting agenda to allow for discussion and potential action to provide direction to staff regarding the preparation of propositions for a November 3, 2020 bond election. 

 

The City Council discussed potential elections to be held at their regular meeting on June 9, 2020. At that time, a worksession item to discuss the bond election propositions was planned for the June 23, 2020 worksession. The City Council previously ordered a special bond election to be held on May 2, 2020.  The City Council postponed the election to November 3, 2020.

 

Prior City Council Action

On February 11, 2020, the City Council approved Resolution No. 1752-20-02-11-0702 ordering a special bond election to be held on May 2, 2020.

On April 2, 2020, the City Council approved Resolution No.1756-20-04-02-0715 postponing the special bond election to November 3, 2020.

The deadline to order a general election or special election for November 3, 2020 is August 17, 2020.
