Approving an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between City of Pflugerville and Travis County for improvements to Becker Farm Road.
Summary
The City of Pflugerville is constructing improvements on and extending Becker Farm Road to intersect with Silent Harbor Loop. A small portion of the northern end of the project is not within the city limits of the City of Pflugerville. As a result, Travis County has approved the proposed construction plans and required the City to enter into this agreement establishing roles and responsibililities associated with the project. The impetus of the project is to fulfill service plan requirements associated with the annexation of properties along Becker Farm Road, and enhance connectivity in the area. The City Attorney has reviewed the document.
Status
Area stakeholders were notified of the project on April 24, 2011. The project is currently being advertised for bidding. Bid opening is scheduled for June 1, 2011.
Deadline for City Council Action
Staff requests action on this item on May 24, 2011. The agreement is concurrently being considered by Travis County Commissioners' Court.
Projected Future City Council Action
The project bid is scheduled to be awarded on June 14, with the notice to proceed anticipated on June 21.
Fiscal Impact
The capital improvement project is funded by previously issued Certificates of Obligation (COs) and is estimated to cost $590,000. The City of Pflugerville will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the roadway within the City Limits, as well as the portion in Travis County which is approximately 100 feet in length.
