Approving the purchase of shade installation services at Black Locust and Pflugerville Heights Parks and playground equipment installation services at Royal Pointe Park from The PlayWorks, Inc. in the amount of $93,068.27 and authorizing the City Manger to execute the same.
Summary
This expenditure will be purchased utilizing BuyBoard contract #679-22 and be reimbursed by the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC).
The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) Board unanimously approved a Community Engagement Grant (CEG) request for the City of Pflugerville Parks and Recreation Department at their June 28, 2023 meeting. The request was in the amount of $100,000, for the purpose of public park shade structures at Pflugerville Heights and Black Locust parks.
The following parks / items / costs are requested:
· Black Locust Park / shade structure installation / $ 19,153.22
· Pflugerville Heights Park / shade structure installation / $20,153.22
· Royal Pointe Park / playground installation / $53,761.83
· TOTAL $93,068.27
Staff will present the Community Engagement Grant (CEG) request for Royal Pointe Park playground equipment at the August 16, 2023 PCDC Board meeting for consideration. With the limited turnaround time, staff is seeking approval from City Council prior to the August 16th PCDC meeting.
If PCDC does not approve the Community Engagement Grant request, staff will keep Royal Pointe playground replacement in our annual capital outlay.
