Award the construction contract for the Colorado Sand Drive project (between Kelly Lane and the intersection of FM 685 with SH 130) to Patin Construction, LLC of Taylor Texas, the lowest responsive bidder of 7 bids received on April 4, 2013, in the amount of $2,485,603.97 and authorize the City Manager to execute documents to include a funding agreement with Cornerstone at Kelly Lane, LLC for funding of construction of Bid Alternates 1&2.
Summary
The Colorado Sand Drive project is intended to fulfill the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) agreement between the City of Pflugerville and the Terrabrook Falcon Pointe, L.P., Developer to construct public infrastructure improvements for a North/South Retail Collector beginning at the intersection of Kelly Lane southward to the intersection of FM 685 with the SH 130 frontage road approximately 3,350 linear feet. The project improvements for extending Colorado Sand Drive as a new location 2-lane divided roadway include grading, drainage, waterline, storm sewer, hot mix asphalt paving, traffic signal modifications, signing, pavement markings and other work as described in the plans, specifications, and bid documents. Cornerstone at Kelly Lane LLC is entering into a funding agreement with the City for necessary funding for construction of Bid Alternates associated with the Colorado Sand bid documents. The associated bid alternates will construct the additional 2 lanes of the roadway to the utlimate 4 lane section of Colorado Sand and also will construct wastewater infrastructure along the entire length of Colorado Sand. Construction is expected to begin in May 2013 with completion projected for October 2013. The attached “Colorado Sand Drive Tabulation of Bids” includes the base bid values in which the low bidder was Patin Construction, LLC.
Status
The project was advertised for bids on March 20th, 2013 and March 27th, 2013. Seven bids were received and opened on April 4th, 2013.
