Summary
The City is amending Chapter 72 of our Code of Ordinances specifically relating to speed limits on city streets by adding new streets with posted speed limits other than the prima facie speed of 30mph. This action updates our ordinance to be in compliance with state law in order to enforce speed limits on city streets.
The following streets are included in the changes to the ordinance:
· Becker Farm Rd.
· Heatherwilde Blvd.
· New Meister Ln.
· Pflugerville Pkwy.
Maps showing these street sections, current speed limits, and the new speed limits are attached to this item. The City Attorney has approved the ordinance as to form.
Prior City Council Action
This ordinance was approved on first reading on August 26, 2014. Chapter 72 regarding speed limits on city streets was last amended by the City Council on July 22, 2014.
