Resolution amending the Pflugerville Community Library Policies and Procedures.
Summary
The attached policies shown with track changes were last amended by the City Council in March of 2003. Ms. Lisa Charbonnet, Library Director, reviewed the policies and discussed them with the Library Board. Although there are a number of further changes that will be made as Ms. Charbonnet continues to work through various documents, these changes are proposed to streamline and simplify the policies, mostly in the fines and fees section. The recommended changes have uniform fines throughout the various library media, making it easier for staff and patrons. Other proposed changes improve the wording of the document or reflect the additional media types and resources contained within the library. A complete review of the policies will be presented to the City Council in a more comprehensive reader friendly format within the next six months.

There is no deadline for this action. Library staff would like to implement the fine and fee standardization as soon as possible.

Complete review of the library policies.
Fiscal Impact
The total fiscal year 2012 revenue budget for fines and fees from the library is $26,000. Staff does not expect a significant increase or reduction of that amount as a result of these proposed changes.
