Approving a professional services agreement with Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. for the preparation of the Regional Water Feasibility Study partially funded through the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB)  in an amount not to exceed $100,000 and authorizing the City Manager to execute same.
 
Summary
During the December 11, 2012, City Council meeting, the Council approved a resolution authorizing staff to apply for a grant throught the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) for the costs associated with a regional water supply planning study. The grant was submitted by the City with assistance from Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) who is currently working on the water master plan and distribution model for the City of Pflugerville.  The grant was submitted with the support of the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), Aqua Water Supply, and the City of Hutto.  The amount of $50,000 was awarded to the city, requiring a $50,000 match.  Grant documents were signed and submitted to the TWDB.
 
This agenda item is approving the professional services agreement with LAN to perform the regional water feasbility study.  The attached contract has been reviewed by the City Attorney.
 
Deadline for City Council Action
LAN would like to begin the study as soon as possible.
 
Fiscal Impact
The TWDB is funding $50,000 and the remaining $50,000 will be charged to the Professional Services line item in the Water Administration account.
 
Staff Recommendation
Authorize the City Manager to execute the professional services agreement with LAN for the  preparation of the Regional Water Feasibility Study partially funded through the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB)  in an amount not to exceed $100,000.
