Approving a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a release of a 20' ingress and egress easement on behalf of the former North Travis County Municipal Utility District No. 5.
Summary
The resolution will authorize the City Manager to execute a vacation of an easement orginally granted to the North Travis County Municipal Utility District No. 5 (NTCMUD#5) for purposes of ingress and egress across an unimproved tract of land, more commonly known now as the Highland Park Subdivision. The easement is 20 feet in width which extends approximately from Wilke Ridge Lane to the Mokan right-of-way. When the City annexed the area of NTCMUD#5, the City became the successor in interest and assumed all powers, duties, assets, and obligations of the District, including easements.
The easement currently traverses numerous improved single-family lots, affecting title, in which most of the houses encroach into the easement. However, it is evident the ingress and egress easement is no longer necessary due to the existence of improved roadways within the Highland Park Subdivision that provide the necessary access.

Staff recommends the release of the easement.
