Presentation of the Fiscal Year 2010 Popular Annual Financial Report.
Summary
The Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) is a document based on the financial information presented in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. The creation of a PAFR is part of an ongoing effort to keep citizens and other interested readers informed and provide transparency in the City’s financial activities. The PAFR is in a format that is appealing to the reader, easily understood, and can be widely distributed to interested citizens. This is the first time the Finance Department has produced this document. The focus of the information in this PAFR is on the governmental funds. Future reports could expand to include the proprietary funds (utility fund).
Status
The PAFR has been printed, but will not be distributed until the City Council has reviewed it. Copies of the PAFR will be available at the meeting.
Staff Recommendation
Staff would like to place these publications in the City offices that serve the public: Utility Billing, Library, Recreation Center, Municipal Court, Building Inspection, and the City Manager's Office. The PAFR will also be available on the City website.
Fiscal Impact
Funds for having the PAFR printed is included in the FY 2011 budget.
