Title
Approving the selection of Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. for professional engineering services associated with design, bidding, and construction administration of the Sorento Wastewater Interceptor Phase 1Project and authorizing the City Manager to enter into negotiations regarding a scope of work and fee proposal.

Summary
The City of Pflugerville solicited requests for qualifications from engineering firms to perform design services, bidding and construction administration for the Sorento Wastewater Interceptor Phase 1Project.
This project will construct a new wastewater interceptor connecting the Sorento development to the proposed Sorento/Carmel regional lift station.
Preparation of the final engineering construction documents shall include but not be limited to: project design, topographic surveys where required, geotechnical investigation, environmental assessment and environmental clearances, Phase I Archaeological Survey including subsurface testing and clearances through the Texas Historical Commission, identification of utility conflicts, required utility adjustments and replacements, coordination with utility companies, determination of ROW/easement acquisition, preparation of ROW/easement acquisition metes/bounds and sketch, preliminary and final engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost, project manual and any other items necessary to successfully construct this project.
This project will be designed in accordance with the City of Pflugerville’s 2011 Edition of the Uniform Development Code and May 2005 Edition of the Engineering Design Guidelines & Construction Standards.
Status
City staff received seventeen (17) proposals. A review team made up of Mr. James Wills, Public Works Director; Mr. Dan Franz, City Engineer; and Mr. Tom Word, Assistant City Manager, reviewed and scored the proposals. Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. was selected as the most qualified firm for this project.
