Title
Approving a Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) performance agreement with The Pflugerville Fund for Excellence in Education d/b/a the Pflugerville Educational Foundation, Inc. (PEF) a Texas nonprofit corporation for vocational programs including Project Lead the Way and Geometry in Construction.

Summary
The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) in partnership with the Pflugerville Educational Foundation (PEF) approached the Pflugerville Independent School District (PISD) to see if the organizations could further support vocational courses in Pflugerville to help better prepare PISD Students for the workforce upon graduation and also better prepare those students seeking higher education.  PCDC and PEF identified the need among several employeers including EVS Metal, P.T. Products and Directed Manufacturing Inc. for qualified CNC Mill and lathe operators.  The proposed $20,000 payment will allow PISD to purchase a CNC Mill to train students.  The CAD programming necessary to operate the CNC Mill is a workforce skill that is desperately needed in our community.  Upon completion, the students will be well prepared to become CNC Mill and lathe operators or to further their education in  the engineering field.  These students not only learn faster with better comprehension but learn practical skills which will enable them to enter the workforce or support themselves financially while attending college.
