Presentation of the 2010 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award to the Pflugerville Community Library.
Summary
Staff of the Pflugerville Community Library, under the leadership of Director Kathy Freiheit, submitted an application for this award which is granted annually by the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association (TMLDA.) Through descriptions and examples of documents and activities, this year’s successful application demonstrated the Library’s commitment to service excellence in the following areas: summer reading program; services to underserved; enhanced service; marketing materials; policies and procedures; programming for adults and families; literacy support; collaborative efforts; staff training; and library web presence. The application is available for viewing at the Library.
Of the more than 500 public libraries in the State of Texas, only 27 received the award in 2010. Pflugerville Community Library also achieved this recognition in 2009.
