Summary
The City of Pflugerville Health Inspector has advised staff of changes to be made in the city’s Food Establishment Ordinance to reflect changes made during the 84th Legislative session in Texas Senate Bill 582.
The first amendment to Chapter 110 involves changing the ordinance in section 110.02 to reflect the fact that the State repealed Chapter 229, Sections 161-171 and Section 173-175 and created and restated these rules into Chapter 228.
The second amendment, made in Chapter 100.23, deletes the requirement that all food handler’s certificates must be posted at the place of employment. The State now requires that the certificates must be made available upon request.
The third amendment, also in Chapter 110.23, involves replacing “state” food protection manager certification program with “certified” food protection manager certification program.
The fourth amendment, made in Chapter 110.40, established the agency title change from the Texas Board of Health to the Executive Commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission.
This proposed ordinance has been reviewed by the City Attorney and has been approved as to form.
