Reclaimed Water Master Plan Presentation.
Summary
Over the course of the past two years, the City has committed significant time and resources evaluating how to best provide water resources and wastewater services as we grow to a population ultimately exceeding 200,000 people. A key component of the City's future water supply will most assuredly be reclaimed water. Reclaimed water can be a very reliable source of water for manufacturing products, systems cooling, irrigation, and other uses.
Status
At the May 13, 2014 City Council Meeting, staff presented proposed strategies for the Reclaimed Water Master Plan. The City's engineering consultant, DCS Engineering, has integrated those strategies into the plan including an initial reclaimed water project for the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC). Staff would like to present the final strategies for the plan to the City Council.
Prior City Council Action
A professional services agreement was approved by the City Council on June 11, 2013 for completion of the master plan. An update regarding the plan's strategies was presented at the May 13, 2014 City Council meeting.
