Summary
The Parks and Recreation Department seeks approval of the purchase and installation of replacement wood flooring for the gymnasium at the Pflugerville Recreation Center for Covington NAH. The gym floor replacement and install is $115,816 by a reputable Buy Board vendor with references and experience with both the University of Texas and San Antonio Spurs. Due to small sections of the floor warping, the vendor has recommended we consider adding a vapor barrier that prevents any leaks or moisture from affecting the court surfacing in the future. We will not know until the current floor is removed if the extra $21,700 for the vapor moisture barrier is required. The process will take 4-6 weeks depending on current floor conditions and is scheduled to start middle of January. We plan to offer Windermere as alternative option for self defense and gymnastics programming. Basketball, Volleyball and Pickleball will be off the schedule until the new flooring is completed.
