Title
Proclamation declaring April 4-8 as National Work Zone Awareness Week in the City of Pflugerville.

Summary
Each year in April, National Work Zone Awareness Week is held to bring national attention to motorist and worker safety and mobility issues in work zones. The theme for this year is "Safer driving. Safer work zones. For everyone."

National Work Zone Awareness Week was created in 1999 when the Federal Highway Administration, the American Traffic Safety Services Association, and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials signed a Memorandum of Agreement pledging to increase public awareness of work-zone safety issues through a national media campaign.  At this meeting, Mayor Coleman is scheduled to proclaim April 4-8 as National Work Zone Awareness Week to bring attention to motorist and worker safety and mobility issues and to create awareness within our City for motorists regarding the need to drive cautiously and to obey signs and traffic controls within work zones.
