Approving a resolution amending the Youth Advisory Council.
Summary
The Youth Advisory Council is a program to teach local high school youth about city government and get them involved in their city. Youth Advisory Council members volunteer at city events, tour city facilities, attend various board and commission meetings and complete the year with a visit to the annual Youth Advisory Council Summit. Youth Advisory Council members are required to be residents within the Pflugerville city limits.The resolution will allow high school juniors and seniors to apply to the Youth Advisory Council.The resolution will also set a minimum number of members needed to maintain the program to no less than five.
Prior City Council Action
The City Council took action on September 18, 2018 to amend the Youth Advisory Council to expand the membership to 20 members.
The City Council took action on August 27, 2019 to amend the Youth Advisory Council to automatically accept eligible applicants.
