Title

Discuss and consider action to award a construction contract for the Helios Way Water Line Extension to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) project to Patin Construction, LLC, the lowest responsible bidder of twelve (12) bids received on March 8, 2018, in the amount of $254,137.50 and authorizing the City Manager to execute same.

 

Summary

The Helios Way Water Line Extension to Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) project includes approximately 1,300 linear feet of 12-inch PVC pipe and 2,210 linear feet of 8-inch PVC pipe. The water line will be extended from Helios Way to the wastewater treatment plant site located at 15500 Sun Light Near Way to provide fire flow to the new field operations building at wastewater treatment plant site.

 

The attached bid tabulation shows the bids in which Patin Construction, LLC was the lowest responsible bidder with a base bid of $254,137.50. The engineer’s estimated cost of this project was $558,800.

 

Status

The project was advertised for bids on February 21, 2018.  Twelve (12) bids were received and opened on March 8, 2018.

 

Fiscal Impact

Funding for this project will be taken from the water portion of the utility fund balance.

Staff Recommendation

Staff recommends awarding the construction contract Helios Way Water Line to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to the lowest responsible bidder, Patin Construction, LLC, in the amount of
$254,137.50.
