Summary
This project will construct a new force main to service development in the Wilbarger Creek basin and is part of the 5-year Utility Capital Improvement Plan.
The construction of the new high school requires that this project must be in service by August 2017. In addition to the high school, this force main and lift station services the Carmel and Sorento subdivisions as well as new development east of SH 130. Construction is anticipated to begin in February 2016 and be completed by December 2016.
The attached bid tabulation includes the bid values in which the low bidder was $1,521,887.40. The bid received is within the estimated budget.
Mean average for the bids was $1,772,355.
Status
The project was advertised for bids on December 2, 2015. Nine (9) bids were received and opened on December 17, 2015.
Fiscal Impact
Funding for this project is from wastewater capital recovery fees.

Staff recommends awarding the construction contract for the Sorento/Carmel Force Main project to the lowest responsible bidder, Aaron Concrete Contractors, LP, in the amount of $1,521,887.40.
