Approving the appointment of Ms. Lisa Charbonnet as Library Director.
Summary
Section 4.06 of the City Charter specifies that the City Manager shall appoint the head of each administrative department, subject to the approval of the City Council. The City Manager has offered the position of Library Director for the City of Pflugerville to Ms. Charbonnet and she has accepted the position, subject to the approval of the City Council.
Over 35 individuals applied for the position of Library Director. Mr. Dennis O'Neill, Human Resources Officer, and Mr. Trey Fletcher, Managing Director of Operations, assisted the City Manager in the selection and interview process. Following this process, Ms. Charbonnet was found to be by far the most qualified candidate, serving most recently as a Branch Manager in the Westbank Community Library District at the Laura Bush Community Library in Austin.
Status
Subject to approval, Ms. Charbonnet will start on Monday, October 3, 2011.
