Presentation of Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2011.
Summary
The GFOA established the Popular Annual Financial Reporting Awards Program (PAFR Program) to encourage and assist state and local governments to extract information from their comprehensive annual financial report to produce high quality popular annual financial reports. The popular annual financial report is specifically designed to be readily accessible and easily understandable to the general public and other interested parties without a background in public finance. The PAFR Program recognizes individual governments that are successful in achieving that goal. Popular annual financial reports submitted to the PAFR Program are reviewed by selected members of the GFOA professional staff and by outside reviewers with experience in governmental accounting and financial reporting. This is the second year the City of Pflugerville has prepared a PAFR and received this award. A copy of the award winning PAFR is attached to this agenda item.
The PAFR for fiscal year 2012 will be available in April of 2013, following the completion of the fiscal year 2012 comprehensive annual financial report.
