Discussion regarding MY 35 Segment 3 Recommendations.
Summary
The MY 35 website (www.my35.org) states that the focus of MY 35 is to find out what citizens think is best for the future of the I-35 corridor. This final report compliments the report by the I-35 Corridor Advisory Committee which stated that more local involvement was needed in transportation planning and that the existing capacity on I-35 was not sufficient for future mobility demands.
MY 35 calls for a citizen's perspective on I-35 improvements which includes identifying corridor needs, conducting public outreach, collaborating with the public and local stakeholders, and creating regional transportation blueprints.
Four segment committees were created. Segment 3 includes Central Texas, from the Bell/Williamson county line to downtown San Antonio. Planning workshops were held in September 2010 throughout the corridor to solicit public input into the proposed plan.
A copy of the final report is available at the Pflugerville Community Library for review.
Status
The Texas Transportation Commission received the I-35 Corridor Advisory Committee plan on January 27 at their Commission meeting.
