Approving an ordinance on second reading with the caption reading: An Ordinance of the City of Pflugerville, Texas, Amending the City of Pflugerville, Texas Code of Ordinances, by amending Title VII Traffic Code, Chapter 71 Parking Regulations, Section 71.05 Parking prohibited in certain designated areas by establishing an additional No Parking Zone on 10th Street; Providing for a violation of Section 71.05 as a misdemeanor and a fine amount not to exceed $500.00; Providing that this Ordinance shall be cumulative; Repealing all Ordinances to the extent they are in conflict; Providing for severability; and providing an effective date.
Summary
The purpose of this item is to amend Chapter 71 of the Code of Ordinances relating to parking on city streets by adding no parking zones along 10th Street near the Townes on Tenth Townhomes located at 1200 10th Street. Vehicles parked in this area reduce safety by inhibiting the sight lines of drivers exiting the complex onto 10th Street and present a hazard to the northbound and southbound 10th Street drivers
This ordinance is supported by the Townes on Tenth Townhomes management.
Engineering will coordinate with Public Works to install no parking signs upon approval of the second reading of the proposed ordinance.
Prior City Council Action
The City of Pflugerville Code of Ordinances Chapter 71 Parking Regulations, Section 71.05 was last amended at the September 14, 2021 City Council meeting.
City Council approved the ordinance on first reading on January 11, 2022.
