Approving revised policies for the Pflugerville Public Library.
Summary
In the interest of keeping Library policies relevant and updated, the Library Board examines them once every two years. A few things have changed at the Library since the summer of 2012, including the completion of our expansion. Accordingly, the policies have been amended in the following ways:
· Pflugerville Community Library has been replaced by Pflugerville Public Library.
· Library proscriptions have been extended to included unauthorized postings of materials at the Library.
· The 3D printer policies, approved by the Library Board & the City attorney, have been incorporated into the main body of Library policies.
· Meeting Room & Display policies, approved by the Library Board & the City attorney in July of 2013, have been incorporated into the main body of Library policies.
· The Library Fee Schedule has been amended to eliminate a fiscally negligible fine for small damages which calls for substantial staff training & can be perceived as subjective by patrons.
Status
All of these changes were formally approved by the Library Board at their meeting of August 13, 2014.
Prior City Council Action
The City Council last approved revised policies for the Pflugerville Public Library on July 24, 2012.
