Title
Approving a change order in the amount of $200,000 with Patin Construction, LLC for the East Pflugerville Parkway/Jesse Bohls Extension and Realignment Roadway Project, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Summary
This item requests approval of Change Order No. 1 with Patin Construction, LLC in the amount of $200,000 and an extension of 65 contract days for the East Pflugerville Parkway/Jesse Bohls Extension and Realignment Roadway Project.
The change order is required due to the ongoing construction of the Public Works Building, which necessitates maintaining the existing construction access road from Weiss Lane through portions of the East Pflugerville Parkway alignment. As a result, the contractor is required to construct the roadway project using a phased approach that was not anticipated at the time of bid.
This phased construction approach requires multiple remobilizations of construction crews, including earthwork, storm utility, roadway, and concrete crews, as well as productivity losses due to schedule constraints and limited access. The change order accounts for additional mobilization costs, productivity impacts, and time extensions associated with these constraints.
Approval of this change order will increase the construction contract amount from $10,745,101.35 to $10,945,101.35 and extend the overall contract duration from 400 days to 465 days.
With the approved time extension, substantial and final completion dates will be adjusted accordingly.
The overall project budget includes sufficient contingency to accommodate this change without the need for additional funding.
This item is supported by the Mobility Infrastructure and Connectivity pillar of the City’s Strategic Plan.
