Discuss and consider a Facility Analysis Report by H.R. Gray.
Summary
The attached report was authorized by the City Manager to provide both a base line assessment of the City Hall facility conditions and liabilities, and an analysis of various options to create additional space for municipal operations presently at the complex. The space analysis also considered the Pflugerville Justice Center and space at the Travis County ESD#2 campus at Pecan and Railroad. The report is attached.
Status
While finalizing the report, staff has been working with Jamail Smith Construction to develop a more detailed cost estimate for utilitizing the first floor of the Travis County ESD#2 Conference Education Center.
Prior City Council Action
The City Council last discussed this subject at the winter retreat on January 29, 2011.
Deadline for City Council Action
None.
Projected Future City Council Action
As necessary in conjunction with the review and ultimate approval of the FY 2012 budget.
Fiscal Impact
According to the report, the order of magnitude costs range between one-time costs of $270,000 and $310,000 with a 15% contingency,
and recurring annual lease costs of approximately $122,551, as proposed in the FY 2012 budget. Other operational costs such as electricty are being quantified.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends implementation of Option 6 as presented in the attached report, but no action is required at this time.
