PfPF will collaborate with the Director of the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) to identify projects for fundraising and is authorized to use the city's name and website to solicit donations. PfPF operates as a separate legal entity, retaining control over its operations and decisions regarding project participation. The City of Pflugerville retains ownership and operational control over parks and facilities, as well as final authority on project approvals, ensuring alignment with the PARD's master plan and priorities?.
In 2023, the Parks and Recreation Commission formed a subcommittee to explore the possibility of starting a Park Foundation and, in 2024, the PfPF was officially established as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
